My color theory project. I had to use blue, and red, and green to create a piece that I could apply some color psychology theories to. I was thinking Green Eggs and Ham, you know? Like, ugly food, but only this time I don't think Sam-I-am would even eat this. Green sushi cannot be healthy for you.
The proportions are wacky, yeah? I did this all with a tablet. I think Ive gotten way better at coloring with it, but I can draw only so-so still. I have a much better time drawing traditionally. But Im just making excuses now, which is bad. Anyway, critique away please.
This is tablet??? This looks like marker! o_o Your tablet skillz totally pwn mine Jo XD

Haha, this is hilarious! I love the little pink squid on his head.

JO! Wonderful, and though I don't have any useful critics for you, I do have something I wanted to say:
His left (my left) eye look off. Almost like it's too small and too close to his nose. I'm not sure how to pace it, but it just looks a little disproportionate with the other one.

I absolutely love it! My only criticism is that, as you pointed out already, the left eye seems a bit askew, and it gives the guy's face a somewhat pinched look around his upper nose. I believe that at that angle, it should be around the same size as the right eye, albeit a bit closer to the nose. Then again, I know nada about perspective and facial anatomy, so I could be completely wrong.
The sushi on his plate seems to fade into one another a bit as well, but it's nothing a little more contrast in the rice won't fix(I'm starting to sound like Mrs. Reedy oh god).
Thank you, thank you! I think you're right about the eye. I applied too much perspective too it. Oddness.
I agree totally about the sushi. I confused myself doing it, because I had done it in normal colors, then applied a layer of green on top. forgetting to take into account that I shade a lot using different hues more than different values. Not a mistake I'll make again!

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.

The octopus hat, however, is utterly perfect.
